It's Independence Day!

The 4th of July is hands down my favorite holiday. I love it for so many reasons, one being that it's the simplest to celebrate. You just can't go wrong with watermelon, sunshine, fireworks, and family. The kids couldn't get enough of the sand and surf. I loved watching them with my audiobook in my ears and my sketchbook in my hands. We wrapped up our low-key  day on the beach with a BBQ before Brian and I took the coaster down to the San Diego fair. We watched fireworks and live music, a comedian, and walked through some fun exhibits. We even found his cousin's photography entry, which was like finding a needle in a haystack. It was a fantastic fourth! If I could do it all over again I'd triple the amount of sunscreen we applied. We're all slightly burned but Brian is a lobster! Blisters are already forming. Unfortunately that's par for the course for him. πŸ˜•

I love this country and all the ideals it stands for. I appreciate the efforts of all the brave men and women, past and present, who have dedicated their lives to ensuring our freedom. God bless the USA! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
