Easter Sunday

Easter was beautiful this year. Our ward goes all out with the Easter Program, and we thoroughly enjoyed it! Since we have 9 o'clock church we had to modify the morning a little to make sure we'd get there on time. I made muffins the night before and had everyones clothes set out. The Easter Bunny hides the baskets at our house each year (an Ebert family tradition), so we told the kids that even though the Easter Bunny would come during the night, we wouldn't be looking for or finding our Easter Baskets until after church was over. Our efforts paid off for the most part, though each kid did have a notable 'wardrobe malfunction.' Chase had the right sized suit jacket, but his pants were two sizes too big (they were on the wrong hanger when I bought them and I didn't notice until it was too late). We rolled them three times and added a belt, which kept them from falling down but not from making him look like a clown. Oh well! Clara refused to wear the necklace that I had made her (along with a matching one for myself), so I had to resort to bribing. Luckily it worked! The rest of the morning went smoothly, and I was even able to snag a couple pix of the kids all dressed up before we ran out the door. I had the privilege of substituting in Clara's sunbeam class and it was so fun to share the Easter lesson with her and her little friends. As for the rest of the day, it was pretty quiet - which was actually a rare treat! Since the rest of the Ebert clan was out of town, we stayed at home and enjoyed dinner just with our little family (and the two year old from across the street - but that's another story). We did some Easter crafts (thanks to Oma), played with some of the gifts the Easter Bunny brought and ended the day with a spiritual Easter lesson. We love Easter!
